Where am I?

This isn’t the first time I’ve woken up and thought “Oh God…Where am I?,” and I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last. I woke up in an unfamiliar bed with a raging headache.  I raised my head off the bed a bit, looked around, grabbed the bottle of pills someone had left out for me and took 2..okay, I took 3.  This headache’s not going away on it’s on after all.  I laid there a bit longer trying to remember last nights’ events.  I know I had a gig, that much I remember.  I know I met some people and had a few drinks after…but that’s the last I remember. I sat up slowly, danging my legs off the bed and decided to take a look around.

Boys & Blackberries

Well hey there y’all! My name is Miss Lily Lightning, and it is just a joy to meet y’all!  I live out in the middle of what some of you folks may call the Boondocks! Out here in the sticks we don’t have a whole lot to entertain ourselves with,  and I live just up the road from my Mama and Daddy.  After I finished up my schooling and got my college degree (I was the very first in my family to receive one!), I couldn’t think of a better place to be than back home in the country.

My mama called me up this afternoon and said she wanted to bake a blackberry pie for the upcoming Sunday Church bake sale.  I thought I’d be a dear and mosey on down the path to her house and pick some blackberries along the way.  This time of year the berries are ripe for picking, and I won’t lie, so are those country boys that I see on occasion riding by in their old beat up muscle cars, and pick up trucks.

In Dreams

The dream always starts the same each time. I am standing on top of the stage of a very old but regal looking theater. I am the only one there and I am practicing a dance of sort while dressed up like a burlesque girl.

An Easy Breezy Kinda Day

What a beautiful day! The sea – calm, apart from its recurring splash against the rocks. The smell of the salty air – thick, as the sun bears down hot. Of course, there was nothing better to do than to relax and enjoy it, wouldn’t you say?

Day Dreamer

Kissed by the sun, by the soft summer’s breeze. My muscles relaxing in the warmth of the afternoon.

Birds singing, the little waves on the lake whispering when they touch the shore. thoughtlessly I draw a finger over my skin and I smile as I drift off in a day dream and then it’s not the sun kissing me anymore.
Your lips brush softly over mine and instead of the waves, it’s your voice whispering in my ear the nefarious thoughts you have been having. And I am pretty sure that the deep red blush on my cheeks has nothing to do with being in the sun too long….
